I wanted to offer a follow up on the 1988 Mustang LX 5.0 SSP car that Charles Rick's wrote as part of the Features article on your web site. I bought the car from Mr. Ricks a little over a year ago, and brought it from about 75% restored to about 95% original as used during its days in the USAF/RAF. A period correct light bar was installed, as well as light switches on the console, microphone, communication antennas, facsimile RAF license plates, and USAF door markings. Only thing I am missing is an aircraft-type radio. This September, I hope to display the Mobile Unit with a real U2 Spyplane at Beale AFB's 50th Anniversary of the U2 celebration in California.
1988 Mustang LX 5.0 SSP with Government Buck tags and US Government Certificate to Obtain Title. Painted Ford Dark Metallic Blue on all inner surfaces, USAF Strato Blue on all exterior surfaces, including the wheels. Equipped with AT, AC, PS, PB, AM/FM radio, Ambar light bar, aircraft blade antenna, mini-2-way antenna, microphone, and facsimile Royal Air Force license plates. 55,000 miles. Restored about 2 1/2 years ago. Show winner at the 2004 Ripon Emergency Vehicle Show in California.
