MCA 30th Anniversary, Barber Motorsports Complex, Birmingham, AL, Aug 31-Sep 2 2006

There were over 20 SSP cars present throughout the show, with people coming from states from Texas to NH to Florida and everywhere in between. Many agencies were represented, and the grounds of the Park made for some great photo backdrops. This view overlooking the track provided some outstanding scenery.

Here's some highlights of the SSP activities at the show:

Making the trip from Florida, Bret drove his FHP car. The weather cleared nicely for us by the time we hit AL.

Kathy, Jim and Neil debate the finer points of SSP restoration.

The SSMOA tent got plenty of use during the show, as Annalisa, Tony, Jack and David take refuge; with the heat and sun, it was a welcome relief.
'Mutual aid' - CHP/GSP fuel up at the gas station down the road. Those guys made a mint over the few days the show was in town!
The editor of a Mexican car magazine shot a feature of us while he was there; these guys had never seen anything like these before!
Friday night, the group got together at Logan's Roadhouse for some cold beers and good food. You can see we were packed in pretty tight.
David Philipkoski. sponsored the dinner for us as a group; he's already got a real one, but this was the best we could do! Thanks David.
Ron Mahoy from Indiana was deployed in Iraq and drove down with his wife and his '89 ISP SSP for the show. Glad to see him back safe.
Sunday we got to run two track laps for $10, so all SSP's got together for the run.
Coming down the hill. Pretty cool to be able to run together as a group.
Following the pace car, we were limited to 45 MPH by track regs. Too bad, it would have been nice to turn the cars loose!
Bruce and Tom follow with the pack curving around as far as you can see.
Here's one guy who didn't take it slow - Neal Koenig with FHP car, race ready and screaming around the track!!
A great group of SSP owner's..thanks everyone.
